Varieties of vegetables are grown throughout the country. The innovations of the business however are in the following forms:
Maturity Categories: Production of vegetables varies considerably as per type of vegetable to be produce with different agronomic practices involved. Vegetables vary depending on the life span of the specie .For our geographical location in the mountains we have three category of maturity of vegetables

The above table shows three maturity categories;

  • Short season – Six weeks (One and Half Months)
  • Medium Season- Two months (Eight Weeks)
  • Full Season- 3 Months (12 Weeks)
The above is the major reason that raised impetus for SSAFO to develop policies such as the 365 Days Farming Initiative (365DFI).
